Full Version: Stop Stitching PS Codes on IR110

Hello,
I hope somebody out there has had to do something like this, but I need to run 1000+ 4-7 page PDFs through a Canon IR110. I really want to find away to have the bookletmaker fold but not stitch these, so that we end up with a "nested" mailing.

The major problem is that I can send these PDFs out to the HOLD que, from there I would have to manually & one by one manipulate each to shut off the stitch commands for the bookletmaker. What I really need to know is how to temporarily shut off stitching on the 110 OR on the printer driver there is a place send a "Custom Command File" with the job, could this be the PS code to stop stitching, if so does anyone out there know what this code would be?

Thanks,
Schulte

What front end is driving the Canon? Is it EFI / Fiery?

Do a print to file with the option set in the print driver on a simple document.

Open the postscript file in notepad and look for the finishing commands starting with % probably. It is probably specific to the device so it should be in the header.

Play around with turning the option or options on or off and output postscipt to file and view each to see the different settings.

Then try that % command in your postscript code to turn on or off stapling on demand. My guess is they don't support subset finishing ala Docutechs so you won't be able to turn it on and off during 1 job.
