What dfe do the Kodak Digimasters have?

Is it any good. Is it available on any non-Kodak products?

As far as I am aware the digimaster has a proprietary kodak front end on it. My understanding is there is no alternative; however, I have never checked into that.

From what I have heard is that it is a simple and stable interface; however, limited with respect to the degree of complexity in job programming it can handle.

My understanding is it is an okay rip for much if not all black and white print with the possible exception of variable print. I believe it supports PPML (I don't know which version), but I am not even sure of that.
