Hello all~
Do any of you have any experiences with the magnetic stocks? Not the pre-magnitized cards but the full sheets that need to be magnitized after they are printed. Do they run well? Can you cut them in a normal guillitine cutter?
Just looking for some info before diving into this, thanks~

The mag stock runs ok.. You can cut them on any cutter.. Make sure that the blade is sharp though.. Also before you run the stock you need a code from xerox in order to run igen.. Get that from yor local xerox support team.. It is different for each seperate igen.. GOOD LUCK..

Here is what you have to do.. Lower tray one is the one you have to use.. you have to log in as PSP.. if you have the password.. SVC098 is the password.. don't mess around in there though.. Can get into alot of trouble. Go to dc0131 type in NVM value 12509 and click value.. Make sure it is lower tray 1 ..
This is called enable multi feed sensor..

Speaking of magnetic Sheets, how long will the colors survive on all weather conditions if placed outside and are there any other procedures to protect the printed side e.g. ( Coatting, Laminatting)
Thanks.

That's a good question.
Color stability in direct sunlight would be my first concern. Toner is only rated to a few months of direct sunlight before significant color change (+17 delta E).
Then there are extreme conditions like rain, snow, salt, etc that will eat away at the substrate and toner / toner adhesion.
The long and short of it is it depends on substrate and type of toner as well as how well the toner is fused to the sheet.
The simplest method to test is the scratch test, if it scratches off, it didn't fuse properly, and will not hold up over time.
You can coat, ie UV or Laminate the output for substrate durability as well as seal in the toner, but these methods would not protect the color (and often change the color during their process) as a permanent solution.
I had a window decal I made on Xerox Window Cling stock on a DocuColor 12 that I had on my read window of my Jeep which lasted over 2 years. Finally I noticed that you could just wipe the toner off of it one day and removed it. The color held up well but did change. It was an american flag, so the blue wasn't as deep and the reds shifted quite a bit, but you could clearly see it was a flag.
