Full Version: Fuser Oil streaking

I seem to have a lot of problem with maintaining smooth and consistent coverage of the fuser oil. After tech comes out and replaces parts I'm good for a few days. Text coated seems to be better than the Cover coated.

We've used a few brands, Domtar, ChoursArt, Mohawk 50/10 and now using Mohawk digital.

Does the 5000-8000 series have issues with the fuser oil or is it the paper?

Thank You

Craig

Hi Craig,

We've come to realize that when our iGEN starts producing fuser streaks its time for an oil change. It seems that the impurities in the fuser oil cause the streaks. Do you run a lot of offset stock? If you do, then thats why your fuser oil may get contaminated faster which in turn causes your streaks. Ask your tech. about it. Hope this helps.

Hi Craig

We have noticed on our 8000 that the streaks will cure and lesson over time but, depending on what you are printing (dark solids) you may still see them. We UV coat alot of our work which also helps the streaking.
