Hello,

Befor I get one, I'd like to know some details like : how much power does it require? (I mean electricity); where can I find the RML? does it need a lot of maintenance ? and does it allow any kind of finishing? I heard that there was some problems with some finishing.
Thank you very much for your help

Power, I don't know the specific requirements as I was not apart of that portion of our installation, we have a dedicated electrical box for our IGen and I believe there are two - 240 drops to power the IGen. Xerox will give you the requirements as you ready your site for your IGen installation - you should be able to request this info before you purchase one from them.
The recommended media list unfortunately is not on their website for the IGen (contact one of the shops with an IGen in your area and see if they will give you a copy of the most recent one.) - of course X will tell you it works best if you run their paper. We did alot of trial and error before we found paper(s) that worked well within our job requirements. There is required operator maintenance, which is part of the three weeks of training the operator goes through. The cleaning requirements begin at 50,000 impressions. Depending on your volume this can be daily or every couple of days. Your level of quality requirements will also dictate some of how often you do certain maintenance procedures. Allow your facility a 6 month break-in period, as your operators gets use to the IGen and as the IGen works out any installation bugs. Don't be surprised by how often your service techs are onsite during this break-in period.

Xerox offers several finishing options for the Igen, however we do all our finishing offline due to our shops set-up. The main issue I heard with the online finishing is, if there is a mechanical problem with the finishing equipment, it will shut down the Igen until it is serviced unless Xerox has changed this aspect by allowing a bypass.

I hope this information was somewhat helpful in your decision.

RML is on their web site, right here:

Is that the most current? It is dated 11/30/06.

Thanks for the link.

Thanks for posting the web address for the RML. I could not find it when I searched their site. Found all their other machines RMLs but could not locate the IGEN RML, even though I had thought I had found it there once before.

The one that's up right now is labeled June 2007.
