Full Version: GBC may have solverd the punch problem

We had a GBC Tech. in from Wisconsin last Friday. He brought a prototype drive motor for our punch. We are the second install to receive this in the US due to our punch volume (it hasn't been approved by Ricoh yet). It appears to be working so far on the 80lb cover, keeping my fingers crossed though.

So far it's holding huh.gif

I've put 165,000 punch cycles on it since Friday, by the end of the month it will have 500,000. We'll see how long it lasts.

By the way, sorry about the typo for the topic, fat fingers and a new laptop are not getting along!

NO, not at all, we looked at a 7095 (little brother to 7105) as well as the Rocoh MP9000. We have had 7 Canon's in our shop in the last 9 or 10 years. We chose the Ricoh due to its interposer trays inserting before the GBC finisher, larger feeder tray capacity, 4x the hard drive capacity & 2x RAM, all 3 large capacity trays support 13x18 sheets, plus Ricoh can support both 2/3 hole and GBC at the same time without buying and changing dies.

I was a little hesitant about making the switch but after 700,000 on the meter everything seems to be fine. I wouldn't think twice about getting another, but you have to understand the MP series is completely different than the old models, I have heard those were rough.
