I have a question for anyone using xmpie with DocuSP. We are attempting to not embed the resources in the dbf file. I am having trouble finding an answer to what folder the resource files should be placed in DocuSP. Is anyone out there using this option and how does it work for you.

file go into gsharded folder

Do you find that using this feature increases RIP time at DocuSP or on the computer rendering the file?

in my opion only on the rendering on the mac
the docusp is still slow ripping
as i'm typing we are doing a project using xmpie docusp no opi
2000 records batches 75mg dbf files the docusp is ripping this in about 1 hr a batch we have 30 batchs
this has a 5 photoshop images
we have another project that has vector art and will rip 2000 records in about 5 min
i have found if are images in a vip project it will ripp slowly
hope this will help
i know there some others on this forum that may be of better help than i.

What do you mean by no OPI? ("as i'm typing we are doing a project using xmpie docusp no opi")

Also, if I am composing an full color book that calls in static 8.5x11" page images that are overlayed with variable copy/images out of XMpie, in what format do I want to store the static image art? Should the image file be Vector based (smaller file and crisp lines) or rasterized (larger file)? Should the background be transparent (our page background is white with a gray shading)?
