We did the three week training for Xerox Level2 Customer Maitenance and are doing our own service. So far we have had a few bumps here and there but otherwise it has been smooth running.
I wanted to start a forum for those of you having trouble with these problems.

When starting up your I-Gen's be sure to calibrate at least once a day. Some may view this as excessive but depending on the volume you image, it will ensure consistant color from day to day. I would also recomend leaving your I-Gen's powered up overnight as this will prevent moisture build up inside the print engine. Only power down the entire engine for extended periods, and then give yourself at least an hour to two hours to bring the printer back up and do any HFSI's that need to be done.

We found out some valuable information last week about rip times on the iGen's. In the training for the press we were told and it recommends in the manual to use 'trapping' and 'anti-aliasing'. With these options turned on, certain variable data jobs would rip EXTREMELY slow. We then turned off these options for all jobs/queues and noticed an increase in rip speed of about 200% to 400%. Jobs that would take 15 minutes to rip were now taking just 5. See what you think.
