hi all does anyone know what improvements version 2.4 brings on DocuSP?? as we are getting it installed at the end of the month and we are the guinea pigs.

The Differences Guide is available on the XRXGSN website or from your CSA. From what I have read, there are some changes in the GUI on the DocuSP Controller in how it looks and operates, Imposition is handled Post Rip, which should cut down on some of the Faults caused when trying to impose a job on press. There is also a Job Data Submission feature on the DocuSP controller that works with the Call for Assistance Data Submission on the PI, for instances that you experience a problem that is job related, it will collect and send the related job ticket info up to Rochester. There are also some added features to help control color when printing in Black Only mode.

We will be upgrading later this month or early in October, once our production schedule lightens a little, as this is one of our more busy times of year.


Has anyone upgraded yet? Is there any bugs that you have found we should be aware of?

We just upgraded today. The install went smooth unlike all the other upgrades that we have received. The GUI is visually different. Things that we did notice right off where that you could specify which stacker to send jobs. Ex. Stacker 1, Stacker 2, Multi or top tray. All jobs get placed in the inactive section of the GUI as they are submitted. Also, the job desciptior fields , Job ID Job name and etc., are in different locations. As we recognize new things throughout the next week or two I will post them.

Grab thee some snapshots from random digital cameras--both good and bad shots. Run them through the new DocuSP both ways, with automatic image enhancement both on and off.

Recently had two new I-gen3's installed with the new software. The first one was up in little over a week, and has ran great. The second one however had ALOT of bugs in it. If you have more than one installed, run as many jobs on the second one as possible to get all the bugs out quickly. Our first one ran good due to the techs being here to install the second one and could troubleshoot the problems. Once they leave your on your own and calling for service daily.
