I'm looking into products for customers to print and proof to PDF with web submission. So far I've found Jaws PDF Courier and Adobe's Jobready. Most users will probable be using PC and MS Publisher or other basic lowend layout programs. Has anyone have any insight into these applications. Final output is to a HP Indigo 3050.

Thank You

Publisher is a problem application for most, careful when it comes to patterned fills.. Anyway, we use Job Ready starting a couple of weeks ago, so far so good...

How do you like your Indigo? We have Igen...

THanks!

Dale,

Do you know what applications and platform your users are using. Can you set joboption settings and do any preflight of files before recieving. Is there a job ticket generated (can this be tied into a jdf workflow)?

As for the Indigo it is a good press, It would be nice if it had a larger Imaging area as the Igen3. Max page size is 12x18 so imposing standard postcards 4.25x6 can only be done 4up. Color is good as it has a inline xrite 24 for calibration. User replaceable blanket and PIP are fairly easy and toner comes in a can and is mixed with imaging oil and agent. We print only 12x18 sheets and most stocks run well, as we also run magnetic stock

Thank you

When the jobs go through Jobready (i assume thats what your referring to), There is some jdf involved but because we are not going in that direction yet I can't speak to much on that. Yes, you can set the joboptions to you specs and it renders a proof for the customer to approve before releasing so with these two things there shouldn't be much of a need to preflight (notice I didn't say NO need), I trust nothing if you know what I mean rolleyes.gif ?? So far so good...

I do believe you can do some sort of job ticketing, just maybe not exactly what you want...
