Hello,

My company is just starting to look at the options of varible color printing. Currently, we produce billing statements with nested marketing pages. We currently have the color pre-printed and then we add the varible data. I am looking for some suggestions on equipment or the best suited equipment that would produce a varible color document. Speed and Quality are the most improtant areas and I know that there is a balance between the two. Looked at several different options Kodak, Xerox, Oce etc. Any suggestions would be helpfull

Is this all you are going to be doing is the marketing statements? Or is there a possibility of doing other marketing pieces?

What format is the data in today?

What are you using today to produce the black overprint?

What is the most important, cost or quality?

What kind of volume do you do in a month?

Do you have skilled operators that can handle maintenence of a digital press?

How often do you have changes to the job?

Answers to these questions will help determine what device(s) are the best for you... It will also help rule out some the different technologies as well.
