Hi all

I have recently started at a new company. We are a digital printing company and belong to the bytes technology group.

We have a number of customers that we do perfect bound booklets for, and laminate the covers.

At this point in time we are using a matrix SH-650 laminator. It has a decurler on it but this does not help at all.

To get to the point. The end product is a book that has a mind of its own, spreads its wings and wont sit still.

Has anyone else experienced this problem before?

Any suggestions?????

Thanks

Carl

Grain direction is important a long with the tension you are putting on the laminate and the speed at which you laminate.

Try changing the grain direction, taking almost all the tension out of the laminator and slow it down to its slowest speed.

Thanks Patrick.

Actually makes sense now that I think about it. I know about the tension & speed. I've tried everything I could along those lines.

We have been feeding short edge 1st though.

Will order longer laminating roll next time and try long edge 1st.

In theory, sounds like this should sort my problem out.

Will let you know.

Thanks

Carl
