Full Version: FusionPro didn't suit our needs

We evaluated FusionPro for our VDP needs and at this time would not work well for us. The problem we had was our variable paragraphs in different letter versions. There was no way to make the underlining in the variable paragraphs (in FusionPro) match the underlining in our static portion created in Microsoft Word. I even tried creating an underline font to no avail. FusionPro replaces the space character in the font. I was able to make it work with a clunky work-around, but it was too complicated for us to use on a regular basis. I was disappointed with this aspect of the program, but was impressed with the javascript capabilities of FusionPro and the ability to name the pages in a PDF and call different pages with a statement based on a field in our database.

That's good to know that. Did you try formatting the whole static info using fusionpro's markup or would that be too cumbersome?

The client had already approved the letter setups created in Microsoft Word so we weren't able to change the underlining. The underlining in FusionPro is right at the baseline and is thinner than the underline in Word which is right below the descenders.
