We are very interested in the docucolor 242 but are not happy about paying the extra increase for the rip which we dont need or have any use for. Am I correct in saying that the 242 will not connect to a pc unless there is a rip ?

Also, if we do get a rip are we going to be able to print from microsoft office pc programs and dtp programs such as Indesign etc without having to go through complex menus and settings on the rip ?

We currently use Phasers which are fine for our work but have very poor feeding for SRA3 through the inadequate multi purpose tray, hence why we are interested in the 242 with its add on oversized high capacity feeder and air seperation.

Any advice would be great, we do not want to end up with a rip if its going to slow us down on quick short runs.
