Hello,
I have been testing a plethora of transparency paper for printing backlit display posters using inkjet printing, trying to overcome the issue of the color black yielding a charcoal color instead of a black. Duratrans (the KODAK photographic process) is the traditional printing technique, but the machines /material is incredibly pricey.
Anyone have an idea on how to make blacks look like blacks when inkjet printed on transparency paper/film?
Thanks,
Karin

Karin,
Try using a rich black such as C 28 M 22 Y 22 K 100, that should help.
What printer & substraite are you using? Is it just the black that is light?
Also you'll want to increase your saturation the prints will look very dark but once you backlight them they should look fine.

It would definitely help to know what printer/rip you are using.
I have found on my Epson that using the canned Backlit profile that comes with the Epson driver produced decent results with little tweaking. We have moved to a full-fledged rip since then, but when doing transparancies, I still go back to using the Epson driver.
